Tears We Shed

TEARS WE SHED

by Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

Tears we shed
for lost dear lives
could reach your throne
so majestically high

in
heavens of heavens
above treacherous skies.

No boat needed.
No moat heeded.

You hear our cries

rise--
alternating tides

despite
constricted throats
which cannot hide

horrible racking
knee-bending chokes

these sudden/prolonged
tragic deaths
provoke.

Hearts imprisoned;
walled in sorrow
from soothing
and compassionate
strokes.

Please ease our pains.

Let heart and ears
open
to cherish a hope
future;

Our
loving
gain:

To return--
our families.

Your key
in the hands
of your Son

to unlock
grave's

binding chains.

His rulership
already begun.

Our voices then
again to raise
a joyous praise

with
glistening
and grateful
eyes.

Hopefully

All Our Peaceful

Eternally
Youthful
Days.
