Vanishing

Vanishing

by Seah Greenhorn
(Poem with copyright)

Affection
natural
no longer
the norm;

foretold.

Wasted lives

breaking news
no longer;

old. Worn
out
by
cycles

stories
of selfishness
negating
love.

Hate
circles
like vultures
above

carcasses
stripped
of dignity,

yet clinging
still
to life;

reaching for
a reprieve.

Searching
cloudy skies
for the dove
of peace
to remove

a developing desire
to catch the boomerang
of evil

flinging it
to smack
consciousness
into
or
unconscious
Mr./Ms.
Disloyal

before
their soul
expires.

Yet,

a few mangled birds
Instinctively know
that vengence
extracted

destroys
their ability to fly
free and high.

Fails to
console.

Yes...
sadly vanishing
like chaff on the wind

Loyalty.

What a shameful sin.
